CAPLOR EQUINE
Offering a wealth of services for all from weaning and schooling, to retirement full, assisted or DIY livery options.

Our Story
At Caplor Equine we offer a calm and welcoming environment, for both horse & owner. We are a well-established equine facility, our team offer a combined 111 years of caring for horses and ponies of all shapes and sizes!
Located on our family farm set in over 160 acres of grass land, we have gently sloping, well draining fields of improved grass, with natural shelter from hedges. All fields are well fenced and secure with self filling troughs from our natural bore hole supply... All in beautiful rural Herefordshire, just outside of Fownhope - 20 minutes from the M50 in one direction and 20 minutes from Hereford in the other.
We are of the strong belief that all equines should have access to decent turnout all year round, and that’s even more important with older ones. We also recognise that as they age they enjoy their creature comforts. In addition to 24/7 grazing, we have two large, bedded down barns that the horses will have access to for the winter with external hard standing. They will have access to the fields in all but the most horrific of weather (proper snow or a real storm).
Our focus is on providing the highest standards of care for your horses while also supporting DIY liveries with a well-maintained and welcoming environment. Your horse will be thoroughly checked twice a day with rug changes and daily care, such as fly spray, sun cream etc, as needed. Once a week they will have a good groom (assuming they enjoy one!).
Our offering is very much a holistic approach, we will treat your horse as an individual and they will be cared for like our own.

Caplor Farm: A Life with Horses
Caplor Farm has been my home for over thirty years — and the heart of a lifelong passion that has grown into something truly special.
My equestrian journey began at 19, training for my BHSAI and working as a yard manager before launching my own teaching and training business. I later trained at Hartpury College and continued sharing my knowledge through Pony Club and Riding Club instruction — all while building a parallel career as a community and public health nurse.
In 2019, I completed my LEAP qualification in Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy, which deepened my belief in the emotional intelligence and healing power of horses. It also reinforced my commitment to creating a calm, natural, and respectful environment for horses at every stage of life.
Here at Caplor, I’ve bred and produced my own horses, and developed a livery and retirement haven where horses can truly thrive — whether they’re just starting out or enjoying a peaceful, well-deserved retirement. Our approach is holistic, rooted in herd life, and centred on calm, consistent, and compassionate care.
At the core of everything we do is a set of values that guide us daily:
-
We believe in inspiring both horses and humans — fostering confidence, connection, and growth through understanding and empathy.
-
We are committed to a sustainable way of working — from thoughtful land management to practices that respect the long-term wellbeing of both horse and environment.
-
And we are always improving — learning from every experience, staying open to new knowledge, and striving to provide the best possible life for the horses in our care.
-
This is more than a business — it’s a way of life. And every horse here is treated as one of our own.
